Аминокислотная или нуклеотидная последовательность, принимаемая за эталон в сравнительном анализе; также К.п. некая идеальная (усредненная) последовательность, каждая позиция в которой представлена нуклеотидом (или аминокислотой), наиболее часто встречающимся в реальных последовательностях* * *Каноническая последовательность, усредненная п. — последовательность аминокислот, с которой сравнивают все др. варианты их соединения друг с другом, т. е. принимают за эталон в сравнительном анализе. К. п. описывает или характеризует некую идеальную (усредненную) последовательность, содержащую нуклеотиды, наиболее часто присутствующие в интересуемом сегменте ДНК.
